Who We Are

Helping Elders and Disabled Organisation (HEDO) is a Tanzanian nonprofit dedicated to empowering elders, children, and youth with disabilities through digital inclusion, assistive technologies, health support, inclusive education, and community-driven protection. We work in both rural and urban communities to reduce digital inequality, improve access to mobility aids, strengthen social protection, and create safe, inclusive environments for vulnerable groups.

Our commitment extends to ensuring that persons with disabilities, the elderly, and underserved communities are not left behind in the rapidly changing digital world. Through training, advocacy, and technological innovation, we strive to improve dignity, independence, and equal opportunities for all.

What We Do

Our work focuses on creating long-term, community-centered impact in the following areas:

We collaborate with government institutions, NGOs, local leaders, private sector partners, and global disability networks to implement sustainable and inclusive solutions that support independence, equal participation, and improved wellbeing.

Our Mission

To advance dignity, rights, and sustainable well-being for elderly persons, people with disabilities, women, and youth by promoting equal access to education, economic empowerment, health, environmental protection, and inclusive community support systems.

Our Vision

A transformed and inclusive society where all marginalized groups—especially the elderly, people with disabilities, women, and youth—enjoy independence, equal opportunity, social justice, and a healthy environment that supports their full participation and potential.
